I’m wondering how 0844 numbers actually work. They appear to be the telephony equivalent of the HTML redirect, enabling foreign callers to appear as non-international. Perhaps it’s a modern way to get around the Telephone Preference Service<\/a> which is intended to protect us from this kind of cold calling.
