It is without doubt the most annoying and flogged to death junk that ever appeared on my screen.

First of all, this programme is designed to bring out the absolute worst in human nature: Men vote off women and women vote off men; stupid people attempt to vote off their betters because they know they don’t stand a chance otherwise. Only last week the contestants included the head of security for Heathrow Airport. She openly voted off a clever player because she knew she didn’t have the intelligence to beat them. Personally I find this disgusting behaviour for somebody placed in a position of trust and responsibility. Maybe I’m old school but I’d rather lose than lie and cheat my way around others.

As mentioned above, being sexist is not only permissible on The Weakest Link, it appears to be encouraged. This seems strange for a public television channel that is supposed to promote no prejudices. Whilst not having a racist bone in my body, I’d love to go on this programme and vote somebody off because they were black. Would they broadcast that? Like hell they would, and I’d be told to say something different.

Finally, the bloody Weakest Link has been flogged to the point where everyone is begging for mercy. It’s shown at prime time television, five days a week and nothing but nothing is allowed to invade its schedule. Sporting events are abandoned, leaving people hanging on the edge of their seats so Anne can welcome every one to The Weakest Link, despite nobody wanting to be welcomed to it ever again. Good thing voting in national elections don’t finish until late evening or we’d have to postpone coverage for 45 minutes at 1745!

Please bury this programme along with nuclear waste, in lead lining and in the deepest hole available. I suspect that not a single tear would be shed.

[6

post-44","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-rants","entry
["GET
